Obituary
Susan I. “Sue” Moore, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Lloyd family farm in Poynette, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 16, 1956, in Madison, Sue was the eldest daughter of Myron and Verna (Gibbs) Lloyd. The family later moved to Poynette, where she graduated from high school in 1974.
Sue devoted 10 years of her career as the office manager at Summit Commercial Fitness, where she became a valued and trusted member of the team before retiring in 2023. Prior to her time at Summit, she worked as a classroom aide in the Waunakee School District and spent many summers at Country Bloomers Greenhouse, where she nurtured her love of plants and gardening.
Earlier in her life, Sue spent many hours at the family farm training horses alongside her father. She had a passion for crafting, particularly quilting—a hobby she began with her mother. Sue treasured her time with friends, whether they were playing cards, traveling, or simply enjoying each other’s company. But the greatest thing that brought Sue joy was being a grandmother. She loved her boys to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond.
Sue’s love for her family was evident in everything she did. She was always ready to lend a hand, offering unwavering support to her loved ones. As a mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Sue was a constant presence in the lives of those she cared about. She could often be found on the sidelines at her grandsons’ games and activities, as well as at the sporting events of her nieces and nephews, always cheering them on with enthusiasm and love.
Sue is survived by her sons, Chris (Teresa) Moore and Adam Moore; grandsons, Henry and Grayson Moore; her siblings, Fay (Kelly) Lloyd, Penny (John) Midthun, Brent (Bonnie) Lloyd, and Kari Lloyd; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Verna Lloyd.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Carbon Cancer Center and Agrace Hospice for their exceptional care and support.
