Obituary
Liv Lemlem Hammes, age 17, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Agrace Hospice.
She was born on November 11, 2007, in Hossana, Ethiopia. She is the daughter of Paul and Heidi Hammes.
Liv had an adventurous spirit and a great sense of humor. Starting at a young age, she was active in swim and dance and earned her green belt in Karate. She most recently enjoyed two great seasons with the Inspiration Cheer Team and Miracle League Baseball, where she made many friends. Liv was always ready for the next family adventure. She adored her brothers’ Jesse and Joseph and joined in many of their goofy games and wrestling matches. Liv touched many lives with her big brown eyes and beautiful smile.
Liv is survived by her parents; two brothers, Jesse and Joseph; her grandparents, Evelyn Hammes, and Gary and Sue Maedke; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Arthur Hammes.
Liv also had a wonderful extended family of teachers, students, aids, therapists and caregivers who enriched and brought joy to her life.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the medical team at UW Hospital and Agrace Hospice who helped Liv and our family navigate the many medical challenges.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 3:30PM at Olbrich Gardens, 3330 Atwood Avenue, with Annemarie Kalson presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the amazing organizations that gave support to the family, including Agrace Hospice, Logan’s Heart and Smiles, and Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit: www.ryanfuneralservice.com

Hugs and Prayers to your family on the loss of sweet Liv. I work in the Library at SP East HS and had the honor of meeting Liv when she came in to check out books. I loved seeing her sweet smile, her cute hair accessories and her love of purple which is also my favorite color. May your days ahead be filled with healing memories. Mrs. P.

Liv had such a sweet and pure soul. I have such fond memories of her from the girls' (Norah) elementary days. The world was fortunate to be touched by her spirit. And she was fortunate to be loved so well by so many.
