Obituary
Madison- Adelia V. Schulz, age 85, was born to Eternal Life on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at home lovingly surrounded by her husband and children. She was born to Jose and Elvira (Abeyta) Valdez on October 18, 1939, in Edith CO. She married Rolland L. Schulz on June 15, 1960 in Provo, Utah.
Adelia graduated from Orem High School in Orem, UT in 1957. She won a typing contest held at BYU and took her first job as a secretary at General American in Orem, UT. Moving to Wisconsin after she was married, she continued her training in secretarial skills, and used her skills to work at Wisconsin Electric, Oscar Mayer, Badger Sheet Metal, Academy Electric, and for the City of Madison. She received her certification as Tax preparer and worked as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant at Madison Public libraries. After retirement, she worked at Warner Park Community Center as receptionist and babysitter. She also volunteered at St Peter’s Catholic Church as a catechist and office assistant.
Her hobbies and favorite pastimes were roller skating, dancing, bowling, knitting and crocheting, gardening, and caring for children.
Adelia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was very attentive, and together with her keen memory, she made each person in her life feel valued and loved. She especially enjoyed all her grandchildren, and took the time to play with them and get to know them in every stage of their life. Adelia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Adelia is survived by her husband, Rolland; children, Cynthia (Scott) Stillwell, Paul (Rae Ann) Schulz, Doug (Jill Waalen) Schulz, and Andrea (Ruben) Herrera; grandchildren, , Joseph Stillwell, Alicia (AJ) Stillwell-Jungmann, Emily (Nicholas) Nelson, Maria (Kyle) Kearns, Patrick (Emily) Stillwell, Andrew (Danielle) Stillwell, Anthony Stillwell, Bartholomew (Gabrielle) Stillwell, Bridget Stillwell, David Stillwell, Stacy (Justin Swiatly) Platt, Allan Platt, Pablito Schulz, Tucker Schulz, Verenice Herrera, Santiago Herrera, Mariana Herrera, Lorena Herrera, Zuleida Herrera, and Andrew Schulz; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Priscilla (Jim) Mecham; and brother, Gilbert (Shirley) Valdez.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, four brothers; and great-grandchild, Elena Kearns.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Rd, Madison, WI. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
