Donna Kleven

Donna Mae (Zaemisch) Kleven, age 93, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at UW Health East. Donna was born on June 30, 1931, in Madison, the daughter of John and Lillian (Buckley) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Norman Zaemisch and they were blessed with four children. Norman preceded her in death in 1962. Donna later married Robert “Bob” Kleven and they enjoyed many years of marriage until his death in 2023.

Donna worked for over 30 years in various positions at American Family Insurance, retiring as a cashier. She also enjoyed working part time for over 10 years at Farm and Fleet.

Donna loved to knit and volunteered over 10,000 hours of her knitting skills to creating beautiful hats for newborns at St. Mary’s Hospital. She also loved flower gardening, baking, reading, walking at East Towne Mall with Bob, bowling in her younger years and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: John (Jodie Armstrong) Zaemisch, Cindy (Bob Lex) Zaemisch and Carla Snyder; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Zaemisch and Bob Kleven; her parents; daughter, Cathy “Koni” Kohn; son-in-law, Tom Snyder and siblings, Reubin, Harold, Pearl, Gladys, Mary, Betty and Helen.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Ryan Funeral Home, Windsor/DeForest Chapel, 6924 Lake Road. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at UW Health East for the wonderful care they gave Donna.
