Michael Scheid

Michael La Mar Scheid was born in Florida on June 18th, 1948. His family then moved to a small town outside of La Crosse, Wisconsin where he attended a one room public school house. Michael proudly worked for the United States Postal Service in Madison until his retirement.

An adventurer, hobbyist, and animal lover, Michael was known as "Million Mile Mike" at Cascade Mountain where he spent 100 days on snow every winter. He was a member of Seven Hills Skydivers, an amateur pilot of his beloved paramotor aircraft "Free Bird", and a volunteer caretaker with the Circus World elephants in Baraboo. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his two brothers who were tragically lost early in life. Michael will be dearly missed by his friends and neighbors.
