Obituary

Kathryn Flynn, age 93 of Madison, WI passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. Born on July 16, 1931, in Madison, WI, Kathryn was the daughter of Bernard and Cleone (Dunn) Linden. She attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School (elementary grades) and Madison Central High School.

Kathryn was married to her husband William Flynn for 67 years until his death. While caring for a large family of six children, she always made time for everyone, providing support and love for all. She worked for more than 20 years at the University of Wisconsin until her retirement. With a great sense of humor, Kathryn enjoyed reading and writing poetry. One of her poems was printed in The Wisconsin State Journal newspaper and received several reader comments. Being from the Dairy State, Kathryn was a fanatic about Babcock Dairy ice cream and enjoying it on the Union Terrace. Plain cone or waffle, cup or bowl, even straight out of the carton, it didn’t matter as long as the ice cream was good and cold.

Kathryn is survived by her children, William (Diane) Flynn, Sharon Heinzelman, Thomas (Penny) Flynn, Michael (Debbie) Flynn, Annette (Tom) Simpson, Paul Flynn; grandchildren, Sean, Michael, Ryan, Emily, Max, Lindsey, Michael, Eric and Kevin; brother-in-law, Richard Imhoff and other family and friends.

She is proceeded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Delores (Fred) Fuller; sister, Mayvis (Bill) Schneider; brother, Delbert (Nira) Linden; sister, Mary Jeanne and son-in-law David Heinzelman.

A graveside service will be held this summer at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, WI.

I remember your mom and her thoughtfulness, she was a good listener and very kind to me!We had many cups of coffee together years ago,she was the only person I've ever known that had a thermos of coffee by their bed waiting for them in the morning! My thoughts and prayers to all of the family.I'll remember her beautiful smile always. Sue Smith(Tricia,Michael, and Greg's mom)
