Obituary
MADISON- Judith A. “Judy” Jacobson, age 70, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 18, 2016. She was born in Madison on June 30, 1945, the daughter of Raymond and Gladys “Dudie” (Helm) Rantala. She married Ken Jacobson on January 20, 1967.
She was a crossing guard at Lakeview Elementary for 10 years and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, and loved her cats, Tipsy and Sabrena. She was an Elvis enthusiast, and spent 3 days in line for tickets to his last concert in Madison, where she sat front row and came home with one of his scarves. Judy’s most giving act was donating a kidney to her husband in 1989.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ken; her children, Jenni Polensky, and Eugene (Kathy Chiono) Jacobson; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Eva Rantala.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Agrace HospiceCare, Susie Jacobson and Ashley Sayles, for their care and support of Judy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Humane Society.
Family and friends will have their own service for Judy with burial at Highland Memory Gardens.
