Judith Ann Ericson, age 80, of DeForest, died peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg. She was born in Wausau on June 21, 1935, the daughter of Erwin and Carmen (Pufhal) Gresens. She was united in marriage to Walter Ericson on September 17, 1955 and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2007.
She enjoyed her friends and family and celebrations at the Timbers, loved to travel and go on vacations and her trips to the casino. Judy’s deafness did not hamper her ability to communicate.
Judith is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Billy) Poland and her grand-dog, DuffMan of Hollywood, MD; nieces and nephews, John (Donna) Gresens, Jr., Jessica (Karl) English, Priscilla Gresens, Shannon Gresens, Justice Latzig, and Veronica Latzig.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three infant children, Colleen, Arlene, and Jennifer; and her brother, John Gresens, Sr.
A funeral service will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest with Reverend John Reinke officiating. Visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 at Pine Grove Cemetery, 1501 Grand Avenue, Wausau. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her church, Our Savior Lutheran Church for the Deaf, 3110 Dairy Drive, Madison, WI 53718.
