Harriet “Mitzi” Kozubek, 98, born October 22, 1917 died peacefully with family on Monday, April 25, 2016. She was born to Roman and Josephine (Kwiecinski) Markiewicz and lived in Evanston, IL. She married the late Anthony J. Kozubek on October 2, 1946. At 89 years of age she moved to her daughter’s home in Wisconsin where she resided till her death.

Mitzi was an exceptional woman, a loyal wife, a devoted mother, a one of a kind BaBa (grandmother) and Great BaBa. She was the life of the party, an avid bowler, a card and scrabble player.

Life with Mitzi was a blessing; we learned from her; we received love and support from her. The many games of Scrabble and bowling are memories that will remain in our hearts forever. It will be hard to do those pastimes without her.

Mitzi is survived by her son, Michael Kozubek (Mary Swanton); her daughter, Marie Crim (Richard L. Crim deceased) and Ronald Hultman; grandsons, Richard Crim, Mitchel (Rachel) Crim, Robert (Tiffany) Crim and Jim Kozubek; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Mason, Caleigh, Lauren, Kobe, Tanner, Rhegin, Briana and Kaden; a sister, Reggie Valentino; brother, Chester Markiewicz and numerous nieces and nephews.

Our family thanks all Agrace staff who visited and helped in her final days. You’ve made her final journey easier for all of us.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at ST. OLAF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 623 Jefferson Street, DeForest, with Father Vincent Brewer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, pay it forward with kindness to others.
