Virginia Murray

Virginia M. “Ginny” Murray, age 78 passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born on November 7, 1937, in Richland County, WI, the daughter of Ted and Fern (Clary) Kolman. Virginia was married to Charles Murray for 22 years. She retired from the Madison Metropolitan School District.

Virginia had a very strong faith and enjoyed reading her Bible, which she took notes in along the way. She also enjoyed writing in her religious journal. She loved being with her family, including cooking and hosting many holidays for them. She enjoyed many camping trips and traveling with her brother and sisters. Playing cards, especially Euchre was another favorite pastime of hers.

She is survived by her children: Darcy (Frank) Manzo, Lisa (Jeff) Nickols, Becky Peaslee, Tammy (Rick) Moore and Richard Murray; 6 grandchildren, Nicole, Katie, Amanda, Elisabeth, Zach and Tyler; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Tressa (Bill) Ward, Delbert Kolman and Alice (Terry) Kasuboski; and also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles and son-in-law, Richard Peaslee.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice, especially her nurse, Carol. They would also like to thank Virginia’s daughter, Darcy for the years of dedicated and loving care.
