Paule was a French Professor at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan but was forced to retire early due to surgery for a brain tumor which left her blind. In spite of her many health adversities, she lived a long wonderful life.

She was fun loving, resilient, kind and thoughtful to everyone. She had an artistic fling which she never talked about much but some might remember her gourmet dinner parties as works of art. She was admired for her intelligence and good heart and she loved her children fiercely and unconditionally as well as her dog Lucy. She was a shining star for sure and she lived an excellent life.
