My deepest condolences to the Lepien family and all that knew Troy. He was truly one of a kind. Troy hired me as a recent intern for the BI department, and while I did not know him for very long, I am forever grateful for the time I had with him as a mentor, but also that he gave me a chance to learn, when he didn't have to. What I learned from him and the team will stay with me forever. He’ll be so missed, and I hope to do great work in his memory.

I will cherish my memories with Troy as my teacher in Kali and Muay Thai. He will forever serve as an inspiration of how we can become the best versions of ourselves. To me, he showcased that every time I saw him. He lived his life well and fully and I think he influenced many lives for the better. He is truly an inspiration and he will not be forgotten. I send my deepest condolences to Tonja, Sophie, and Aidan. I will do my part to keep his memory alive and continue to live inspired by him.

Troy hired me into the Compliance Office at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2000 and we worked together for several years. We just clicked, maybe it was because deep down we were both a little silly at times. Like flying paper airplanes in the office after everyone went home? :) He helped me learn and grow in my position and always had faith in me. I would see his wife Tonja, who he always talked about, at many work functions and the four of us would always have a great time. He even invited my daughter to his daughter Sophie's birthday parties while they still lived in the area. So kind of him. I was so sad when he moved on from MCW but I knew it was the best move for him and his family. I am grateful that we still communicated over the years, not as often as we used to but we still did a few times a year. Thank you for hiring me and for being a good friend to me. My prayers go out to Tonja, Sophie and Aidan during this very difficutl time. I hope that the wonderful memories of him help you through these dark days. Much love. Georgia Dollhopf

Troy always took me into deep water but never let the sharks get me. He was the first man to really mentor me and basically volunteer his time when I was a teen and young adult needing a place to be. His kindness, strength and guidance was everything for me at a time when I didn’t have much! Thanks to my brother, that loves talking about his family endlessly and genuinely wanted the world to be a better safer place. Thanks for giving me skills that make me feel safe, always! Love u brother and your family❤️
