Obituary
Madison - Harry C. LaMay, age 89, passed away on December 18, 2025, at Nazareth Health and Rehab Center in Stoughton. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on September 4, 1936, the son of Harry C. LaMay and Norma (Kent) LaMay.
Harry worked for the Madison Newspapers for 18 years and finished his time there as the City Circulation Manager. He finished his career at a family owned business, LaMay Painting.
Harry played 20 years in Madison's fast pitch major leagues and was on the Madison all star team that played the King and his Court at a packed Breese Steven's field. He sponsored a team called Dirty Harry's and was still a stick into his 50's. Harry loved playing golf with his regular foursome at Cherokee C.C. and in his later years at Yahara Hills with his two sons.
In addition to his love for playing sports, Harry enjoyed art work, music, dancing with his wife of 66 years, watching Packer and Badger sports with friends at the Heritage and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his loving children, Jeffrey (Cindy) LaMay, Cynthia (Gerhardt) Banfi, Tamara (John) White, and William (Maria Schneider) LaMay; his grandchildren, Brooke (Eric) Eubanks, Heidi (Brian) Murphy, Stephanie (Billy) Blazer, and Madison White; great grandchildren, GiGi Blazer, Olive Eubanks, and Johnie Eubanks; his sister, Betty (William) Sime; and other family and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean (Deering) LaMay; his parents, Harry and Norma LaMay; and his sisters, Joan (Ray) Schwenn and Nancy LaMay. Throughout his life, he was cherished by family and friends alike for his gentle spirit.
