Charles Neustadter

Charlie was with me when I was driving my parent’s Ford Fairlane station wagon after school one day when I got in an accident and the car ended upside down during the afternoon rush hour. We crawled out of the car amid broken glass, gas pouring out, and snarled traffic. Charlie told me, “Let’s pick up the car and get out of here.” I’ll never forget that.
