Obituary
MADISON- James M. Heiss, 55, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at home. James was born on March 28, 1962, in Madison, to Joseph and Donna (Hauser) Heiss. James graduated from Madison Memorial High School with the Class of 1981.
James loved to read, and could be seen taking his daily walk to the library, or to pick up copies of the latest edition of the Isthmus to deliver to his friends. James was also an avid movie and TV fan, with a particular enthusiasm for daily soap operas and Star Trek. James will be remembered as a kindhearted friend and brother, who was always ready to play a game of cards, or pet a nearby puppy.
James is survived by his father, and six siblings; William (Tom Rowlette) Heiss, Annette (Albert) Kuehl, Robert (Ann) Heiss of Sturtevant, Wis., Mark Heiss, Thomas Heiss of Janesville, Wis., and Catherine (Mark) Kraemer; as well as several nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother.
James' family would like to thank his skilled and patient team of workers who assisted him over the years so he could live an enriched, independent life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr., Madison, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help cover funeral expenses; any remaining funds will be donated in James' name to the Madison Public Library Foundation.
