James was also an avid movie and TV fan, with a particular enthusiasm for daily soap operas and Star Trek. James will be remembered as a kindhearted friend and brother, who was always ready to play a game of cards, or pet a nearby puppy.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

James' family would like to thank his skilled and patient team of workers who assisted him over the years so he could live an enriched, independent life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr., Madison, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help cover funeral expenses; any remaining funds will be donated in James' name to the Madison Public Library Foundation.
