Obituary

Madison - Deloris M. Eul, age 94, of Madison, WI, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 23, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1930, in Shawano, WI.

She had many jobs throughout her life, starting in the federal government department, then working at Dane County Human Services before transferring to Child Support Services in the courthouse, where she eventually retired. Deloris was a dedicated member of the AFGE and then AFSCME Local 720, where she served on the executive board for many years.

Deloris was a loving and hardworking single mother who took great pride in her family. She was a social butterfly who loved visiting with relatives and was well known in the Madison area. Deloris had a sharp wit, a little sass, and a great sense of humor. She was passionate about the Democratic political party and attended many conventions, where she had the opportunity to meet politicians like former presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Deloris enjoyed playing Bingo at the Goodman Center and was always on the move, never one to sit still at home.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents Glida and Arthur Eul, her brother Arthur Eul, and her grandson David Specht and his wife Janet Specht

She is survived by her son David and Susan Specht, granddaughters Rachel Specht and Heather Specht, great-grandchildren Jack Specht, Emily Specht, Charlie Specht, Aiden Specht, Johnathan Harrington, and Owen Harrington. She is also survived by nieces Diane, Melinda, Lisa, nephew Kenny, and many friends who will miss her deeply.

Deloris M. Eul will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave, Madison.

I first met Deloris when I was a young bride of 18. We lived just up the hill from her on Mandrake Road and I often rode to work with her at USAFI. She was areal character and I mean that in a positive way,. Absolutely hilarious, witty, fun, helpful and kind. Smart as a whip, she usually had people and situations figured out way before the rest of us did! We have been gone from Madison for 27 years, but every so often I still think of her and smile. So sorry to hear of Deloris' passing. She was a great friend and neighbor of ours when I was growing up. She literally made sure I knew I should attend college - and I did! Hugs to her family. ❤️
