Obituaries

Nekoosa - Charles “Chuck” L. Vieth, age 84, passed away on November 2, 2023 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. He was born on November 19, 1938 in Dodgeville, WI to parents Levi and Lucille (Olsen) Vieth.

Chuck graduated from Elroy High School in 1956. He worked at various jobs including being the manager of Eagle Foods Grocery Store for over 20 years, taking care of lawns and later going on to start his own business Chuck’s Lawn Care, as well as working at H&R Block for over 30 years.

His hobbies included playing cards and cribbage, coin collecting, bowling, golfing, and playing fast pitch softball. He was an accomplished bowler who had bowled several 300 games. He was a huge dog lover, especially to his beloved dogs, Pepper and Sophie. Chuck was a people person and enjoyed striking a conversation with anyone wherever he went.

Chuck is survived by his son Daniel (Kathy Bloom) Vieth and their children Nicole (Joshua), Jordan, and Mitchell (Brittany); great grandchildren Ainsley and Sebastian; his other son Dennis (Jenni) Vieth and their children Colin, Anna, Korgan, Ally, Brady, and Brie; he is further survived by his sister Nancy (Ted) Bohatschek; nieces Shelly (Bruce) Bartelt and Lisa (Dick) Jensen; nephews Terri Tyler, Todd (Sandy) Vieth, Scott (Val) Vieth, Mike Vieth, Tony Vieth, and Bruce Vieth; half sister Amanda; and his former wife Virginia Vieth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ron (Sue) Vieth and Mike (Donna) Vieth; his stepmother Margaret; sister Patricia Vieth; and his niece Brenda.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and entire staff at the F4 Wing at the UW Hospital, as well as to the social worker who worked on that wing. Also, a special thank you to Agrace Hospice for their care of Chuck for a short time.
