Obituary For Lee R. Mielke

Morrisonville-Lee R. Mielke, age 82, passed away, after a brief illness, on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. He was born on May 24, 1933, in Poynette, WI, the son of Bruno and Sara (Richards) Mielke. Lee grew up on a farm in Arlington. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. While in the Army, Lee worked as a heavy equipment operator. After the Army he continued working as a heavy equipment operator, starting his own business in 1958. The love of the land he developed while growing up on the farm continued throughout his many years in business. He was proud of the mark he left on the land and could always point to the many projects he had done. In 1964, Lee married Barbara Falk. Together they were blessed with two children.

Lee is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Mielke; his children, Larry (Karen) Mielke and Lisa Mielke; grandchildren, Chad (Misty) Mielke, Kendra (Brandon) Corning, Michelle (Jason) Mittag, Leslie (Tom) Gross, Allison Horst and Chris Horst; many loved great-grandchildren; siblings, Ollie (Nancy) Mielke, Bernie Mielke and Bill (Mary Jo) Mielke; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Sara Mielke.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Monday, April 4, 2016 at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6906 Cty Hwy K, Leeds, with Pastor Scott Schwertfeger presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10am until the time of service.

A special thank you to the staff at Meriter Hospital and Agrace Hospice for the care and support they provided to Lee and the family.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
