Obituary For Susan Eileen Teskey

Susan Eileen (Ackerman) Teskey
February 14, 1966 - January 24, 2024
Verona, Wisconsin

Today we announce the unexpected passing of our sweet Susie – beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was 57.

A Wisconsin Native, Susan grew up in Fort Atkinson, graduating from Fort Atkinson High School (1984) and, a proud Badger, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communications (1989). In Madison, she met her husband of 30 years, Van, and raised their children Tatum, Tucker, Vanessa, and Amie. Susan had a successful career in fund development (Red Cross, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and Edgewood College). She was bright, joyful, funny, down-to-earth, and kind. Susan lit up every room she entered, and she loved unconditionally. Her true passion was being a devoted and supportive mother. Susan enjoyed attending her children’s sporting events most of all. We remember Susan for her fun spirit, comforting soul, and simply infectious laughter.

Susan is survived by her husband, Van; children, Tatum, Tucker, and Amie (Darrin Riemer); parents, Tom & Eileen Ackerman; siblings, Patricia Ackerman (Mark Baitinger), Mary Freese (Ted), and Phil Ackerman (Jen); nieces and nephews, Rob and Rick Baitinger, Patrick and Claudia Freese, and Benjamin and Thomas Ackerman; and aunts and uncles, Mary Puerling, Joan and Jerry Luettgen, John and Kathy Ackerman, and Marie Staral.

She is preceded in death by daughter Vanessa.

A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Ryan Funeral Home, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona, WI. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. until the time of service.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Michael M. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
