DeForest-Godfrey “Jeff” C. Lewis, age 68, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was born on August 31, 1949 in Bankfields, Kinnerley, England, the son of Charles and Edith (Shaw) Lewis. Jeff was married to Irene Griffiths on October 6, 1973 at St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral in Wrexham, North Wales. They moved to the U.S. in 1991. Jeff owned auto repair business in both England and the United States. He ran Windsor Motor Car Services in Windsor, WI until 1995. He purchased the Westside Service Center in Madison in 1996 which is son Aaron continues to run today. Jeff was a member of the Masons, Shriners and the Scottish Rite. He gave back, volunteering to drive children down to the Shriner’s Hospital in Chicago. Jeff enjoyed building doll houses and spending time in nature including camping and bird watching. Jeff especially loved to spend time with his family. He was well known for his sense of humour.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Irene; his sons, Justin (Kimberly) Lewis and Aaron (Michelle) Lewis; grandchildren, Zoey, Charlie, Rory and Finn; sister, Davina Wright and many other aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edith Lewis; and brother, Nigel Lewis.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest, with Pastor Charles Peterson presiding. A memorial gathering with refreshments will follow the service at the funeral home.
