DONDLINGER, Edward J. (Ed)
WAUNAKEE - It is with heavy hearts to announce the sudden passing of Ed on April 4, 2018, he was 60 years old. Ed was born on August 11, 1957 in Faribault, MN, the fourth of nine children to John and Rosella (Kline) Dondlinger. In his younger years growing up nearby Minnesota lakes he enjoyed fishing, boating, and water skiing. Before moving to Madison in 1989, Ed lived and traveled the world through the U.S. Air Force and as a weather research pilot for the University of North Dakota, but found home in Madison with a golf course right in the back yard and a dream job working for the Pyle Group for almost 29 years as a pilot, followed by taking on the role as the “computer guy”. Madison is also where met his loving wife Sue Hougan, and married her on August 31, 1996. In the almost 22 years of marriage they built a life with his two kids, Nikki and Jesse and moved the family to Waunakee. Ed will always be remembered as a dedicated worker, avid golfer, music and foosball enthusiast and was a very intelligent man. He also loved nothing more than talking anyone’s ear off about all things. Ed was his family’s greatest supporter he had nothing but love for Nikki playing piano, watching Jesse on the basketball court or baseball field, and hearing about both their experiences at UW- La Crosse.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sue, children, Nikki and Jesse, as well a large loving family with his brothers, Tom (Ann) and Paul, and sisters, Joanne (Al) Bradford, Diane (Paul) Szurek, Bonnie Brix, Denise (Scott) Woidela, Mary (Joe) Ramier, and Patty (Todd) Sweeney. In addition to many more in-laws, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. He is preceded in death by his father, John, and mother, Rosella.
Ed’s family would like to extend their greatest gratitude towards Waunakee EMS, Dr. O’Connor, Dr. Jacobson, and all other doctors and nurses in the UW cardiac ICU.
