Douglas A. “Doug” Kelley, age 64, passed away suddenly Monday, May 24, 2021 of an acute illness. He was born on March 22, 1957, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison, the son of Raymond and Mary (Hahn) Kelley. Doug graduated from DeForest High School in 1975.
Doug owned Kelley Materials and Landscaping. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and willingness to help a neighbor or friend in need. Doug was happy, loving, and a protective big brother. He wore many hats growing up. He worked hard on the family farm, raising pigs, tobacco, and tending crops. He was a skillful mechanic and a perfectionist, having the ability to paint or repair just about anything brought to him. Doug was a standout football player for the DeForest Norskies, earning many awards in his high school career.
He is survived by his sons, Brad and Brent (Jackie); 3 grandchildren, Henry, Isla and Everett; siblings, Dennis (Jackie), Diane (Joe) Ripp, and Donna (Tom Kaech) Kelley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Darryl.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest. Private services will be held on Saturday with burial at Norway Grove Lutheran Cemetery.
You have earned your angelic wings and know you are at peace home with the Lord, Dad, Mom, and Darryl.
Doug, you left an impression on all our hearts and will be deeply missed by all who knew you.
