MADISON - Michael F. Sorge (Mike, Mickey) passed away peacefully Sunday evening February 2, 2020 at age 90. He was born in Madison on May 22, 1929 and was the adopted son of Ralph and Icel Leah (Crall) Sorge.
Mike attended schools in Madison, Reedsburg, Richland Center and Alexandria, VA and graduated from Madison West High School in 1948. He enlisted in the US Navy and served his country during the Korean conflict. He began employment in 1949 with the U.S. Post Office as a mail clerk and registry supervisor for 40 years, retiring in 1989.

His daughter and youngest son both got middle names from two of his favorite stars, Carole Lombard and Sir Laurence Olivier.
He married Dorothy M. Frederick on April 24, 1954 at St. James Catholic Church in Madison. Together they had 4 children, Nancy, Kevin, Michael David and Kenneth. Mike and Dorothy celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2019.
In 1995, by divine intervention, Mike was able to meet and form new bonds with a couple of his biological siblings and their families - Frederick (Mary) McConnell of Oxford, WI and Ruby Brewer from Oklahoma City, OK.
